Dear Friends!

I am thrilled to be hosting the 6th year – and 12th Season! – of the Grinberg Classical Salon Series on New York’s Upper West Side, reviving the old and elegant European tradition of Hausmusik.

Clara Schumann (1819-1896) was one of the most venerable musicians of the Romantic era, a child prodigy, a celebrated virtuoso pianist whose career spanned seven decades, an imaginative composer, a meticulous editor, the beloved muse and wife of Robert Schumann, a dedicated mother of eight children, an influential teacher, and a great inspiration to so many of her contemporaries, including Mendelssohn, Chopin, Liszt, Thalberg, Rubinstein, and most importantly her close life-long friend (if not lover!), Johannes Brahms.

This Fall, don’t miss eight, one-of-a-kind salons in celebration of the 200th birthday of Clara Schumann and the composers within her circle, including (unjustly) little-known music by her female contemporaries, with works by Fanny Mendelssohn, Louise Farrenc, Pauline Viardot, Cecile Chaminade, Ethel Smyth, Amy Beach, and Lili Boulanger.

To preview the upcoming Fall 2019 salon schedule and to purchase tickets, scroll down below.

Looking forward to seeing you all this Fall!

With best wishes,

Dr. Yelena Grinberg, founder and the artistic director of Grinberg Classical Salon Series
